The River and The Sea

This particular theme is actually not my own. I owe it to someone who came on TV and rendered a poem in Malayalam. Later as I forgot who it was I forgot the exact Malayalam lyrics too. However the theme stayed put in the mind. Once I thought I would translate it to English and add something of my own along with.So in case someone knows who is that person to whom the theme belongs to please do let me know.

The river..she was born in a countryside...
From the folks she heard...the stories... about the sea..
The sea and his blue bewitching eyes..

In the night..when the sun drops his guard on the jungle..
As the veil of mist descends down...
She turn her ears..to the far..to hear the humming..of the sea..

The sea.. and the his mesmeric charm ..

And the day came. day she left .. the fostering forest behind..
The ravines and the vallies..disbelief in their eyes..
But she could not help it...the calling was unstoppable..
And far from she saw..his waiting hands .
Waiting, just for her ..

With a passion ..till she never knew of..she surged past..
The sea......warm was his heart as ever......
And she...fell ..into a trance..

Morning came calling and she woke up..just to see..
He kept in his palace many, like her all from the hills..
After all.. he reins..the mighty and the majestic..

Felt betrayed..she Could not stand it...
She wept..and her tears making the sea saline..

In a rampage..she came back as ..waves ..
Smashed herself against the rocks...

They..threw her back..with contempt..
She split herself..into twists ever churning.
Ever wild....and revengeful..

In a rage and with curse, she went
Farther from the shore..to unknown waters...
For the time to come..forever..

The folks lives on the shore...still say..
In those moonlit nights when they goes for the catch ..
Still hear a silent weep...from the deep..
